Bib - OCLC Number has Letter
What is this?
If you use OCLC as your main cataloging utility, your bib records will have OCLC numbers in 035 fields marked with an (OCoLC) prefix and followed by a string of numbers. In Alma Analytics, this field contains all of a field's OCLC numbers separated by semicolons and spaces.
When is this trouble?
If OCLC number fields include characters that are not numbers or recognized separators, they may be corrupted. Corrupted OCLC numbers may not be findable in the catalog and may lead you to believe you don't own materials that you do.
Exceptions
No known exceptions.
