LC Call Numbers - EB
What is this?
While ebooks do not have spine labels like print books, many libraries
assign Library of Congress call numbers to them so that they will be
included in reports of the library's resources by call number. Often
the ebook's call number will be assigned to be the same as the call
number for the print, but with eb
appended to the end.
Where is the trouble?
When eb appears on the end of call numbers for print books, it can be an indicator that the print book has been cataloged using the ebook record, which may be confusing for both inventory and display.
