Item - Chron No Enum
What is this?
Item records in Alma have separate fields for Enumeration (like
v.1) and Chronology (like 1990), and uses these to
build a description of that item (like v.1(1990)). That
generated description is stored in a separate Description field which can
be modified.
When is this trouble?
If an item record has content in Chron but not Enum, this may mean that somebody has erroneously recorded the publication date in the Chron field instead of (or in addition to) the call number field.
An item record with content in the Chron field but not in Enum may mean that the resource has year as its primary enumeration; that should be recorded in Enum.
How to Find
If you are in Alma, there is an analysis to search for this issue in the "Looking for Trouble" folder. Go to the "Items" folder and look for the "Chrom No Enum" analysis.
