What is this?
One pattern that can show up in LC call numbers in catalogs is ending with a space followed by up to three numbers.

Why is this trouble?
This pattern may be an indicator that the call number ends with an incomplete publication year. The catalog may or may not match the spine of the book.
This pattern may be an indicator of a final cutter that starts with zero but should start with the letter O.
This pattern may result from an extra space ending up in the middle of a cutter.
This pattern may be an oddly placed copy number.
How to Find
If you are in Alma, there is an analysis to search for this issue in the "Looking for Trouble" folder. Go to the "LC Call Numbers" folder and look for the "Number Space ShortNumber End" analysis.
