Holdings - OCLC Delimiter
What is this?
Different systems have chosen different symbols to display as MARC subfield delimiters. Alma's Metadata Editor uses ‡ (Double Dagger) or $$. OCLC Connexion uses the symbol ǂ (Latin Letter Alveolar Click).
When is this trouble?
If your Alma holdings include a Connexion delimiter, it may be a sign that a call number was pasted into a holdings record from Connexion. Such call numbers may display strangely in an online catalog or on a spine label.
How to Find
If you are in Alma, there is an analysis to search for this issue in the "Looking for Trouble" folder. Go to the "Holdings" folder and look for the "OCLC Delimiter" analysis.
