Item - Multipart Blank Enum
What is this?
MARC holdings records have a code in the leader to indicate the Type of Record (LDR/06). If a holdings record is marked 'v' for 'Multipart item holdings' or 'y' for 'Serial item holdings', the items on that holding record should have content in their Enum to indicate which part of the resource they are.
When is this trouble?
If an item on a multipart holdings does not have information in the enum field, it should have information there to indicate what part of the resource is.
If there is no need to indicate what part of a resource each item is, its Type of Record may need to be set to 'x' for 'Single-part item holdings'.
How to Find
If you are in Alma, there is an analysis to search for this issue in the "Looking for Trouble" folder. Go to the "Items" folder and look for the "Multipart Blank Enum" analysis.
